The Smallditch Trashion Label
Since 2017, the Smallditch trashion label has established itself in the contemporary art world as being at the forefront of seasonal, luxurious found objects, utilising British throwaway culture to dress the imagination. Everything is handmade by visual artist artist Martha Haversham using paper cut-outs and natural light, ensuring that nothing goes to waste.

In 2017 I went for a walk in my lunch break and I found a beautiful skirt. Some would see just a dirty chewing gum wrapper. I saw an exquisite party dress, the perfect fit for my Pippa doll. Leaves, fallen petals, discarded cigarette butts.. they all became a timeless variety of luxurious litter looks. Through this lens, this small and playful scale, the world was not so rubbish any more.

My work combines hand-cut paper collage and photography. Every garment, hat or accessory lives in the moment, captured at it's best in natural light.

This shop is an extension of my practice offering a selection of fine art prints and self-published artist books.

Every day I create seasonal trashion and share it with the world. I make an ugly act into a pretty picture; transforming throwaway debris into objects of desire within an artistic space called Smallditch.  We can all go there, it is a rich place to be with a stockroom filled with aesthetic value. My sought-after collections are found washed-up on beaches, on every high street.. Let me dress your imagination.

 Pippa

I lost my knickers a long time ago and I’ve only got one shoe, but none of that matters because being a plastic dolly, I will outlive you all. I reckon 600 years in landfill (heaven forbid) a bit like a toothbrush.

From pink collars to invisibility cloaks; years of experience has gone into the making of these investment pieces.

My label sees the world through a shared lens of creativity that seeks perspective and not to cast blame.

Each garment, hat or accessory has been lovingly repurposed from the overlooked and down-trodden and transformed into petite objects of desire.

I take playfulness seriously, it is everywhere I look; I take aesthetics seriously, it values everything I see and I take luxury seriously, it is what I do - Martha Haversham
